Multi-panel walk on floors for Commercial Renovation

Spitfire Studios is the commercial aspect of the Spitfire Building an Edwardian building is located close to St. Pancras International Station.

The building was completely refurbished, the refurbishment comprised conversion and extension of existing property which included construction of 8 new apartments on the fourth and fifth floor levels plus two-storey steel frame extension. There was also an extensive refurbishment of commercial space from the basement to third floor levels.

Re-imagined commercial property

We worked with Kind & Co as well as Archer Architects to provide Walk On Rooflights for this commercial project. Existing building features and textures, including sand blasted brick and handmade floor tiles, were a key essence of the refurbishment and our task was to design, manufacture, delivery and install Internal Walk On Glass Floors that would help emphasise the uniqueness of this Edwardian property re-imagined.

Seamless Integration

When dealing with Period Renovations for Commercial Projects there will always be challenges, but challenges help push us (in a positive way), so we worked with our partners and created bespoke Internal Walk On Glass Floors Combined With Glass Beam Supports to maximise the buildings natural light whilst maintaining the stringent insulation and energy efficiency that Kind & Co strove to achieve. We believe the bespoke design incorporated seamless integration with the existing architecture, enhancing the building’s aesthetic.
