What is a modular rooflight?

Created as made-to-order configurations rather than one-size-fits-all stock units. Our rooflights are considered ‘modular systems’. They can be planned around fixed glazing, opening sections or access requirements. They are fixed-position rooflight units constructed from pre-manufactured components. By assembling our units to fit your roof’s opening, you get more choice in how your development can meet key standards and certification.

Important clarification: this doesn’t mean you can change the shape or size of your rooflight whenever you want after installation.

They are modular at the point of manufacturing, using a range of tested components to create a rooflight system that fits your project’s design and specification.

Meet design and spec requirements.

Our modular rooflights provide adaptable solutions that best fit your building specs. With high flexibility during the manufacturing stage, our various modules allow you to create a system that is diverse in both design and purpose.
If your main requirement is access to natural light, your system can be fixed, using modules that don’t open. These are best for projects that have separate solutions for airflow, and just require abundant daylight. Alternatively, if you want your rooflight to provide access to an outdoor area, large access hatch modules and sliding rooflights are available, which can be integrated into your system.

If you have questions about your modular skylight, having specific modules helps to make any issues identifiable. If any issues have been encountered before, the solution will likely be easily deployable to units with the same module.

Safety

Our modular rooflights also provide consistency through repeatable test results. If a module has undergone rigorous testing and passed, then it provides security in how duplicated components perform. Even if the module’s shape or size changes, it maintains vital specifications.

All our modular systems:

• Use non-fragile CWCT Class 2 glass as standard (this can be changed upon request).
• Use solar-controlled glass as standard (Low E glass can be used upon request).
• All of our sliding, hinged access or hinged ventilation systems provide smart controls for easy, accessible use.
• Have low air permeability, are highly watertight, and have high wind resistance.
